Our Church History

Our Church History

The Ideal Family Church was first or- ganized as The Ideal Pentecostal Church of God In Christ. The Lord led Mother Mary Lee Wells to fervently pursue a ministry to serve the Lord in Jackson. A store front was located at the Evans Center on Terry Road. And on February 19, 1995, "We began to have Church". Mother Mary Wells's son, Elder Anthony T. Wells preached the unadulterated Word of God and assumed the pastoral office. Along with the financial support of his father, Elder Booker T.Wells and the loving support of his wife, Sister Stephanie Wells. The ministry was set to serve the Metro Jackson area.

The church was admitted to the Mississippi Southern First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction COGIC under the leadership of (then) the late Bishop Hollis Musgrove (Former Prelate) and still admitted to the same Jurisdiction now currently under the leadership of the Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Daniel Littleton.

Being obedient to the leading of the Holy Ghost the name was changed to the Ideal Family Church and in September of 1999 the church was blessed to purchase the sanctuary now located in the Westhaven subdivision # 2. The congregation has been led by our Pastor along with his dedicated staff, trustees, and associate minister. As our Capital City experiences a transition, The Ideal Church will stand erect just as "a city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden". Matt 5:14. Let us rise, shine, and give God the glory. Great things He has done.
